CLAS mathematics professor named American Mathematical Society Fellow

Raul Curto, professor of mathematics in the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, has been named a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society, one of the discipline’s highest honors. The recognition celebrates his groundbreaking work in multivariable operator theory, extensive scholarly contributions, and longstanding commitment to mentoring students and early-career mathematicians.

Iowa alumnus nominated for Tony Award

niversity of Iowa alumnus Samuel D. Hunter’s Broadway debut, Little Bear Ridge Road, received a Tony Award nomination for Best Play. The show, starring Laurie Metcalf and Micah Stock, won Best Play earlier in the week at the New York Drama Critics’ Circle.
