Master puppeteer Kevin Augustine of the critically-acclaimed, New York City-based company, Lone Wolf Tribe, led four workshops with undergraduate and graduate acting and design students in the University of Iowa Department of Theatre Arts this fall.

The performance is an evolving, multi-year, multimedia production and research project that utilizes augmented reality and virtual greenscreen for live broadcast to break the fourth wall between the physical and digital worlds.

Nearly 700 students will graduate from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences this December. During the ceremony, graduates will hear the national anthem by their peer who grew his confidence and showmanship while studying music at Iowa.

During the CLAS commencement ceremony, graduates will hear an address from their peer who earned a neuroscience degree, found community, and gained valuable research experience while in CLAS.

Paula Amad, associate professor of Cinematic Arts, has been selected to give the Martin Walsh Memorial Lecture at the FMSAC Conference hosted at York University this coming May.

Amanda Gustafson and Aunica Harvey are teaching hundreds of Iowa children to dance in their own studio, which they opened soon after graduation with help from the University of Iowa’s John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center.

The 2023 Distinguished Teaching award is an honor for excellence in teaching and mentoring in the field of Catholic history.
