Theatre Arts/Dance Prof Daniel Fine wins ariZoni Theatre Award of Excellence

University of Iowa Professor Daniel Fine received an award at the 2016 ariZoni Theatre Awards of Excellence, in the category of Artistic Specialization for Digital Media Design, for his work on Alice in Wonderland.

The ariZoni Theatre Awards of Excellence were created to honor work done in the Arizona theater community. ariZoni “promotes the visibility, cooperation and growth of theatre in the Valley and are dedicated to recognizing excellence in theatrical performances, as well as individuals who produce exceptional work in all aspects of theatre,” according to its website.

Fine is an assistant professor with a joint appointment in the Departments of Theatre Arts and Dance, both part of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. He is also a core faculty member of the Public Digital Arts Cluster.


The University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers about 70 majors across the humanities; fine, performing and literary arts; natural and mathematical sciences; social and behavioral sciences; and communication disciplines. About 15,000 undergraduate and nearly 2,000 graduate students study each year in the college’s 37 departments, led by faculty at the forefront of teaching and research in their disciplines. The college teaches all Iowa undergraduates through the college's general education program, CLAS CORE. About 80 percent of all Iowa undergraduates begin their academic journey in CLAS. The college confers about 60 percent of the university's bachelor's degrees each academic year.
