Febos and her memoir have been highlighted in The Guardian, The Cut, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, NPR, The Atlantic, and more.

In her Q&A with The Guardian, Febos touched on her feelings as she wrote the memoir, some of her thought processes behind the book, and the decision to include historical examples of women choosing to be celibate.

A review by The Washington Post praised Febos for intertwining her personal journey with the insights of other female authors.

“She has a way of turning her gaze both inward and outward,” the article read. “In ‘The Dry Season,’ Febos plumbs the restless depths of her own seeking by entwining her compulsive self-discovery with curiosity about a wide range of writers.”

In addition to being an accomplished author, Febos was also recently named Roy J. Carver Professor, a five-year appointment recognizing the highest levels of achievement in scholarship and teaching that is effective July 1.
