Kyle Agnew

Biography

Kyle Agnew (he/they) serves as an Undergraduate Academic Advisor at the University of Iowa in the Department of Neuroscience and Biology. He is an Artist, Educator, and Advisor who aims to create a safe space for students while assisting them in achieving their own personalized goals during their collegiate journeys. Kyle believes in students aiming for their dreams and wants to be a small stepping on stone in helping them in pursuit of the moon.

Kyle is an Indiana native and received his BFA in photography from the University of Indianapolis (2015) in Indianapolis, Indiana and His MFA in Photography from the University of Iowa (2024) in Iowa City, Iowa. Kyle has taught at The University of Iowa (2021–24), Cornell College (2024-25), and Coe College while also being a leader of the Society of Photographic Educators (SPE) pride caucus where he works as a part of a small team of queer educators to create a space for queer individuals and artwork to build community across our nation.

He has shown artwork at Augusta University, SRO Photo Gallery Texas, Len scratch, Griffin Museum, University of Iowa, Coe College, Mahrishi College, Indianapolis Art Center, The Curated Fridge, My Collections at The UIowa Natural History Museum, Soft Lighting Studio, Golden Rod Editions, and the IUPUI Cultural Arts gallery.
