Joelle Petersen

Academic Advisor
Biography

Joelle Petersen is an academic advisor for students in Health, Sport, and Human Physiology. She enjoys working with students to make the most out of their time at Iowa, both in and out of the classroom.

Joelle is a first-generation college student from rural eastern Iowa. She is both a Hawkeye and a Cyclone (who roots for the Hawks, of course!), having earned her BA in Anthropology at the University of Iowa and master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at Iowa State University. She previously traveled the US recruiting for Tippie’s CIMBA Italy Study Abroad Program, and enjoys getting to know students from various areas of the country and from every corner of Iowa. Prior to that role, she worked in the English Department at Iowa and as an ESL instructor in Gwangju, South Korea. She and her husband enjoy travel, art, cooking, and hanging out with their pets.
