Heidi is an academic advisor specializing in the fields of Biology and Neuroscience. She earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in American History from the University of Northern Iowa. Her academic background also includes an intensive Holocaust study abroad program in Krakow, Poland. 

Following her graduate studies, Heidi spent several years as a community college faculty member teaching a diverse curriculum, including US History I & II, African American History, American Civilizations, Women’s History, and introductory college success courses. Guided by an advising philosophy of student empowerment, she fosters personal growth by promoting lifelong learning and preparedness. 

Heidi resides in Iowa City with her dog, Ursula, and spends her free time kayaking, traveling, watching documentaries, and soapmaking.
