Nursing Parallel Planning 

Thursday, March 26 at 5:00 p.m. in W128 CB  

  • Ben Kirbach from the Academic Advising Center and Mary Owens from Enrollment Management will present on exploring alternative pathways to the nursing profession and the process of developing alternative plans, including researching other nursing programs and exploring alternative majors.  

Personal Statements for Medical School Applications

Tuesday, April 7 at 5:30 p.m. in C230 PC  

  • For pre-med students applying to medical school, a workshop on writing personal statements.  

Physical Therapy Step by Step (PTCAS Information Session)

Tuesday, April 14 at 6:00 p.m. on Zoom 

  • The Physical Therapy Step by Step (PTCAS) Info Session is for University of Iowa’s pre-physical therapy students who plan to apply to graduate physical therapy programs.  The session provides information about key parts of the application process: application timing, GRE, letters of recommendation, personal statement, and interview.  The information is presented by a pre-physical therapy academic advisor and a representative from the UI graduate program in physical therapy.  

PreMed AMCAS Information Session

Tuesday, April 28 at 5:30 p.m. in W151   

  • Pre-med students planning to apply to medical school using the AMCAS portal in 2026. This event will go over the AMCAS application portal and how to use it to apply to medical school.  It will cover how to send transcripts from the UI, how to enter coursework, references, MCAT score reporting, and basic strategies for MCAT test-taking and writing personal statements.
