Ignacio Alvarez
Ignacio Álvarez is the Senior Academic Advisor for Anthropology, Global Health Studies, Ethics, Public Policy, Philosophy, Political Science, and the Museum Studies Certificate.
He has been advising for over two decades in multiple states and institutions. Throughout Ignacio’s advising experience, he has worked with a variety of majors. He always enjoys learning about his advisees' academic and career goals, especially when they share news about job offers or their acceptance to graduate and professional schools. Ignacio appreciates the opportunity to help students learn about and participate in internships and study abroad programs.
The social science major programs Ignacio currently advises align closely with his academic background and experience. He is a first-generation student from California who transferred from Riverside Community College and ultimately earned an undergraduate degree in U.S. History from Lake Forest College. Ignacio went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in History from Claremont Graduate University.
A little more about Ignacio: he enjoys going camping, hiking, and taking care of his chickens (and yes, they all have names).
