There is nearly always an event or activity happening on the University of Iowa campus—concerts, sports games, an event from one of the 600+ registered student organizations, and more.

With so much going on, it can be tricky to learn what’s happening and keep track of it all.

As the fall semester kicks off, we wanted to know how College of Liberal Arts and Sciences students know about what’s happening on campus. We asked students on Instagram to tell us how they learn about events and activities.

Whether you’re a first-year student, a new transfer student, or returning to campus, we hope you find their advice helpful!

The top two responses from students about learning about events on campus were email and Instagram. Students also mentioned hearing about events from faculty and SCOPE Productions, which is part of the Division of Student Life.

The new student app is another way to keep up with what’s happening on campus. You can view information about events, events calendars, student organizations, well-being resources, and more.

You can also easily view events on the University of Iowa events calendar, where you can filter by interest, audience, and type of event.

In their response, one student pointed out that “there is something for everyone” among the various events and activities, so be sure to keep up with what's going on.
