The academic advisors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences reminding students to take a minute to answer these four questions as they prepare for the new semester.

Has your advisor changed?
There are many reasons why your advisory may have changed. Please verify your primary advisor and their office location. You can schedule an appointment through MyUI or email them directly.

Are your areas of study correct?
Your program(s) of study are listed in MyUI and includes your majors, minors, certificates, or pre-professional programs. If any of this needs to be updated, please contact your advisor.

Are you enrolled in a full schedule of classes?
Review and make changes to your current schedule and waitlists on the courses/registration page in MyUI. Waitlists will continue through the first week of classes, but you do not want to depend on them to fill your schedule.

Is your degree audit updated?
Make sure your courses are showing up where you think they should on your Degree Audit and contact your advisor if you notice any issues.

Be on the lookout for additional outreach that will come directly from your advisor.

During the first two weeks of classes, you may want to talk with your academic advisor about the following topics. If so, please schedule an appointment, drop in, or send your advisor an email.

  • Dropping or adding a class
  • Questions about your fall schedule
  • Graduation concerns
  • Changes in your programs of study
  • If you need additional support/resources as you begin the semester
