Brandon Waltz, author of the children's book Water Bear Don't Care! and Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Biology, will be having a Book Signing and Meet and Greet on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon at The Sawmill Museum in Clinton, Iowa. The cost to the event is $12 and includes a signed book and admission to the museum. Dr. Waltz worked with Biology undergraduate student, Lilly Froehlich, who did the illustrations. The book is a playful and educational journey into the resilient world of tardigrades. Written for children ages 2-6, this short, engaging, science-infused story uses rhythmic verse and charming cartoon illustrations to showcase the incredible survival skills of these microscopic creatures. The Sawmill Museum is located at 2231 Grant Street in Clinton. For more information about the book, read this recent story on how Waltz and Froehlich combined their skills to create it.
