The Department of Rhetoric will again provide important resources for students and instructors from June 15 through August 6, the period that coincides with the 8-week 2020 Summer Session.

• The Conversation Center offers one-on-one appointments for conversations in English for undergraduates with students enrolled in a service-learning course, the Rhetoric Conversation Practicum. • Iowa Digital Engagement and Learning (IDEAL) supports students and instructors working on technology-enabled activities and projects. IDEAL helps , for example, with podcasting and video projects, class blogs, and other digital mediums, offering a wide range of expertise related to digital engagement. Email ideal@uiowa.edu to schedule a meeting with a curriculum designer. 
• The Speaking Center offers quality one-on-one instruction, small group tutoring, and consultations with students and instructors who would like to work on any aspect of oral communication. Contact the Speaking Center at speaking-center@uiowa.edu.
• The Writing Center was started in 1934, making it one of the first writing centers in the United States. The Center has a long-standing tradition of one-to-one instruction in rhetorical and communication skills and offers support with writing projects at any stage of development. Services are available to undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty in all disciplines.
