In follow up to the August DEO Retreat, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has announced the call for departmental faculty hiring plans, faculty line pre-proposals, and faculty deployment charts.

By November 1, 2023, at 5pm, all departments must submit a 5-year hiring plan. The required template can be found here.

By November 17, 2023, at 5pm, pre-proposals for new faculty searches in categories for the tenure-track, clinical-track, and instructional track are due. The one-page proposal form can be found here.One proposal form per faculty line should be submitted, with a maximum of three forms per department allowed. We recognize that some of your language from your hiring plans may be translated into the pre-proposal.

New this year, by November 17, 2023, at 5pm, all departments must submit a faculty deployment chart for the 2024-25 year (previously referred to as the “Airline Seating Chart”). Faculty line pre-proposals will not be reviewed until a faculty deployment chart has been submitted. CLAS has provided this sample template. If your department creates their own version of this chart or regularly uses a MAUI report (example: the Course Sections report) in your course planning, it is acceptable to upload that instead as long as it includes (1) a list of full course offerings by semester with instructor assignments and (2) a summary documenting overall faculty loads and showing full deployment of all instructors (faculty and TAs).
