The Center for Teaching is sponsoring a special event for faculty members and other instructors that will focus on strategies to enhance the learning experiences of international students and domestic students alike.  "Enlarging the View:  The International Student Experience at Iowa" will be held on October 1, 1:00-3:00 in University Capitol Centre 2520-D.

The event will examine the international student experience at Iowa from a number of perspectives, including:

  • Center for Teaching--What has been happening in US higher education during the last few years regarding international students?
  • UI Assessment Director Wayne Jacobson--What have international students said on a recent UI student survey?
  • International Programs--How can we describe our international students at the UI and what services can IP provide faculty members?
  • What do UI students--international and domestic--say about their own experiences?  What strategies can they provide to enhance the international student experience within the classroom and beyond? What student-sponsored initiatives are focusing on international/domestic student engagement?
  • What strategies can participants at this event generate to encourage and support international and domestic students to connect, collaborate, and learn from each other?
