The Faculty Assembly is a representative body to express the voice of the faculty within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.  It serves as a forum where important issues are generated and exchanged with the Executive Committee, the Undergraduate Educational Policy and Curriculum Committee and the Graduate Educational Policy Committee.  These can be discussed and recommended for approval or dismissal.  The Faculty Assembly also serves as a channel for the Dean to propose, test, and exchange ideas pertaining to the governance and the future of the College.  As Chair of the Faculty Assembly, I would like to encourage all faculty in CLAS to attend the Faculty Assembly whenever possible to share in discussion and debate.  However, only elected or appointed representatives, or their designated alternates, may vote.
