Many instructors are working to support students who have had significant excused and unexcused absences this semester. Please review this October 27, 2021, DEO mailing for guidance about reasonable accommodations for long absences, student documentation for make-up exams, and appropriate scenarios for granting an Incomplete grade. Though the University requires that students be allowed to take make-up exams in many situations, in many other cases instructors have discretion in deciding the amount of late/make up work to accept, so the guiding questions in the DEO mailing can be helpful.
