Planning and Writing Successful NSF CAREER Grant Proposals Virtual Seminar

An NSF CAREER award application is more than an NSF Standard Grant with an education plan added in. Highly competitive awards integrate the research and education plan. In this virtual seminar, we talk about why and how to create a plan that results in a competitive proposal. Presented by Dr. Peg AtKisson (AtKisson Training Group) on Thursday, December 2 and Friday, January 7, 14, 21 from 9am-11am (8 total hours). The session topics include:

  • Understanding the Basics of CAREERs
  • Planning Your Proposal
  • Crafting a Compelling Overview
  • Designing Your Education and Research Plans
  • Discussing the Literature, Preliminary Work, and Significance
  • Letters and the Rest

NIH K Award Ecosystem: Writing a Competitive K Award Virtual Seminar

A competitive NIH Career Development K Award fits together like a complex ecosystem. This virtual seminar will walk you through all the parts of the proposal, emphasizing the purpose of each part and how different sections must mesh. Presented by Dr. Peg AtKisson (AtKisson Training Group) on Monday, December 6 from 9am-1pm. The session topics include:

  • Choosing the right K Award
  • Addressing review criteria in all components
  • What makes a good Candidate?
  • Connecting Candidate, Career Development, and Mentor

NSF CAREER Club

The NSF CAREER Club is designed to give you the knowledge and resources to craft competitive CAREER applications. Club participants will take part in events and services including editing, graphic design, and review services. Activities include:

Broader Impacts/Research Impacts Seminars

These workshops will provide a deeper understanding of broader impacts/research impacts with tips and strategies for building partnerships, leveraging existing resources, evaluating BI activities and other essential skills for addressing broader impacts/research impacts. Session topics include:
