Please read the message below, from John Culshaw, Jack B. King University Librarian.  He is announcing an upcoming key survey, the Ithaka S+R University of Iowa Faculty Survey on Library Planning, aimed at studying faculty members’ uses and perceptions of our seven library facilities, resources, and services.  I strongly encourage you to complete this survey and share your views on a matter of great importance to faculty life.

Thank you.

Colleagues,

Next week, the University Libraries will launch a survey, the Ithaka S+R University of Iowa Faculty Survey on Library Planning. All UI faculty will be invited to participate.

This survey, which is supported by the Provost’s Office, gathers important information allowing the university to study faculty members’ uses and perceptions of our seven library facilities, resources, and services.  Survey responses will help shape the future of our libraries, as well as inform upcoming renovations of the Hardin Library and Main Library.  Some of you will recall that we last surveyed the campus using this instrument in 2015 and shared the findings with the deans during a lunch with a consultant from Ithaka.

I hope you will encourage your faculty to participate in the survey either directly or via your associate deans for faculty.  Early next week, Ithaka S+R will email invitations to participate in the survey; please ask faculty to look for that message sent on behalf of the Libraries.  We are eager to have a strong response rate.

An FAQ is available if you would like to learn more about this initiative.

Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have regarding the survey or survey process.  Thanks!

John
