The GE status for the Health and Physical Activity (HPAS)/28S courses listed below will end with the conclusion of the Spring 2013 semester. Beginning with Summer 2013, GE status will no longer apply to these courses.

The end date is effective for the GE status of these courses in both Programs One and Two. These courses currently have GE status in the following categories:

Program Two Gen Ed - Students admitted for Summer 2011 and after:  Values, Society, and Diversity

Program One Gen Ed - Students admitted before Summer 2011:
Health and Physical Activity

Note for Academic Advisors: Students who have earned GE credit from the courses below by the effective end-date will continue to have that earned credit applied to their GE requirements. This is the normal procedure of the College; neither the addition nor removal of GE status is applied retroactively to the student record.

Please also keep in mind that the College always allows students to petition for an exception to a CLAS requirement, but students should be aware that such exceptions are very rarely granted and only when documented extenuating circumstances occur, such as illness, a family emergency, or other matters beyond the student’s control.
