RE: Reminder of the Instructional Break Policy

The first UI instructional break was Tuesday, March 2; the next one is scheduled for Wednesday, April 14.

Please remember these important guidelines set by the Office of the Provost to ensure both instructors and students have a brief “respite” on April 14, particularly since Spring Break has been canceled.

Note these expectations for April 14:
    · No classes may be held. This includes lectures, discussions, and labs.
    · No homework may be due.
    · No exams and quizzes may be given.
    · Office hours may be canceled.

Additionally, if you give an assignment on Tuesday, April 13, and would normally have made it due Thursday, April 14, please consider adjusting the due date to Friday, April 16 or Monday, April 19 so that Wednesday remains a "free day" for students.

We know these non-instructional days have created some additional work since you have had to juggle assignments and due dates, so we are very grateful for your efforts.

Please let us know how we can help.

Thank you!
