The Center for Inclusive Academic Excellence (CIAE) is seeking nominations from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for the CIAE Dean’s Achievement Award. The college is allotted two awards for two eligible graduating students. Nominated undergraduate and graduate students must be eligible for services from the Center for Inclusive Academic Excellence (CIAE). The awards will be presented at CIAE's End of Year Celebration on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.  

The College invites faculty who teach, advise, and mentor students in the department to recommend students whom they consider deserving of special recognition. These students should have made significant contributions to the university or surrounding communities through their vision and action. In addition, the students should demonstrate responsibility, inspiration, diligence, and good judgment. The selection committee is interested in the student’s academic accomplishments within and beyond the major, special honors or scholarships, and activities or volunteering (on and off campus).

CIAE-eligible students who graduated in December 2023 or who will graduate in May or August 2024 are eligible for nomination. Each department may nominate up to two students. Please note that nominees should have a minimum 3.30 University of Iowa and Cumulative Grade Point Average. Although all may have completed 120 semester hours by May or August 2024, we ask for your help in verifying with students whether they are planning to graduate at that time.
