We all know someone who goes above and beyond to support mental health on campus. Now is your chance to recognize their incredible work!

The Higher Education team of the Scanlan Center for School Mental Health is proud to announce the 2nd annual “University of Iowa Mental Health Champion Award.”

The Mental Health Champion Award recognizes students, staff, faculty members, or groups for cultivating an environment that values and recognizes mental health and the importance it holds in the well-being of each of our lives.
Do you know someone who:

  • Makes significant and sustainable contributions to campus mental health?
  • Attends to their own mental health?
  • Centers diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusivity in all aspects of their contributions?
  • Improves access to and awareness of mental health resources on campus?

Then, nominate them for the Mental Health Champion Award!

The award can be given to individuals or groups, and one can self-nominate or nominate others. Winners will receive a $250 prize, a commemorative plaque, and presentation of their awards at the campus-wide spring recognition events. Nominations are open until Friday, February 9, 2024.
