Catalog copy is due at the Registrar’s Office on Friday February 9, 2020, using the online content management system.

  • Please submit your catalog copy as soon as possible since additional offices on the workflow path must approve the copy, including CLAS, before the Catalog’s publication.
  • Questions about this due date may be addressed to the Registrar by contacting Jan Brunstein, jan-brunstein@uiowa.edu.

Please keep in mind that significant changes made in the Catalog to the requirements of an existing undergraduate major, minor, or certificate must have approval from the College. Significant changes include the addition of tracks or changes in their titles; changes in core or fundamental requirements; the addition of a significant number of credit hours; and related matters.  Any new program of study included in the Catalog must also have prior approval from CLAS, the Provost, and often from the Regents.

The undergraduate degree audit is updated based on the changes made in the Catalog after CLAS has approved the materials.

  • These changes become effective for students who declare the program of study during the fall semester and onward.
  • Entering students who have declared a major during the UI admission process are held to the requirements in place when the major was declared.
  • It is generally best to update websites after Early Registration and as soon as the Catalog is published.

If you have questions about the Catalog or related undergraduate curricular changes, please contact Kathryn Hall in my office (335-2633).

Thank you for sharing this memo with those in your area working on Catalog copy.
