The Graduate College is pleased to partner with CLAS and individual graduate programs seeking to support the implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs). IDPs help graduate students self-assess and explore career options. They also facilitate discussions between the student and mentor with regard to the student’s career goals.

If your program would like to learn more about how to implement IDPs, the Graduate College is offering 15 minute overviews focused on the IDP process, free IDP tools, and best practices in mentor support. These short IDP sessions can be arranged as a Zoom visit to your regular faculty meeting. Please contact vivian-sheridan@uiowa.edu at the Graduate College to arrange a visit.
