This fall, we have again had reports of solicitation of student information in larger classes (and especially in the sciences) via a sign-up sheet for “tutoring” that asks for personal information, such as a cell phone number. This is being done on behalf of a for-profit service called Clutch Prep.

Any soliciting on campus by those without official UI affiliation or status is not allowed. For the complete policy, see this chapter in the Operations Manual, 9.1.

If you see such solicitation occurring, please intervene and collect the related information. Let students know it will be shredded and that solicitations are not allowed in the classroom.
