The Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS), in partnership with the Iowa Mentoring Academy, will sponsor a Fall 2021 Research Mentor Training seminar series combined for both junior and senior-level faculty. Jamie Thrams, Assistant Director for Education for ICTS, will co-facilitate along with Lori Adams, PhD (Dept. of Biology) and National Research Mentoring Network master facilitator.

The Entering Mentoring curricula for this series is typically disseminated over 8 hours. Eight sessions will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. on Fridays, beginning September 10 and ending October 29. All sessions will be held via Zoom.

We will have a second session later in the fall semester specifically for junior faculty. That session will run on Thursdays, from 10 to 11 am via Zoom starting on October 11 and ending on December 8. An announcement for that session will be coming out later in the semester.

Note that the curriculum we use addresses the new NIGMS guidelines regarding the preparation of mentors involved in training grants. Upon completion of the mentor training series (6 out of 8 hours), we will send out recognition letters from the Iowa Mentoring Academy.

Space for this session is limited. Please register at: https://uiowa.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9QAuQk13vmqA9AW.
