The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will be transitioning all processing of FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), non-FMLA medical leaves, and ADA workplace accommodations (Americans with Disabilities Act) paperwork to University Human Resources Faculty and Staff Disability Services (FSDS). The transfer of these responsibilities is part of the Talent[at]Iowa Leave & Disability Management Centralization initiative.

This transition will occur by September 17, 2018; however, prior to this transition, all supervisors must attend a one hour supervisor compliance training focusing on recognizing FMLA and ADA triggering events, how to respond, and the process supervisors will use to notify CLAS HR of a leave or accommodation need for one of your employees. We are planning 7 training sessions within the next three weeks.  You only need to attend one session.  As a supervisor in CLAS, you will be receiving an email notification from your HR Representative providing you instructions on how to sign-up for one of the training options.
