At the conclusion of the Collegiate Promotion & Tenure Consulting Group (CCG) review meetings earlier this year, the group had a debriefing session regarding the P&T process.  As a result, to further improve the process, the College has modified some of the P&T forms.  The changes, which are outlined below, are effective immediately.  Dossiers should be updated prior to September 1.  There is no need to submit to external reviewers the revised CLAS Chart for Summarizing Teaching Assignments, as they will be evaluating the candidate’s research.

  • Table of Contents – Tenure-Track and Instructional-Track
    • The order of documents has been changed
  • CLAS Sample Chart for Summarizing Teaching Assignments
    • The chart must include at least the CLAS Core ACE summary scores in the version of the teaching chart that is placed in the promotion dossier available to the Departmental Promotion and Tenure Committee, the Departmental Consulting Group, the Collegiate Consulting Group, the Dean, and the Provost.
  • Confidential Evaluation by DCG Members – Instructional-Track
    • There is now a form specifically for Instructional-Track candidates for promotion.
  • An additional item has been added to the Final Checklist on the Table of Contents:  DEO and/or Dept. Administrator has reviewed the bookmarked PDF.

It is important that this information be shared with candidates for promotion/tenure, Departmental Administrators, P&T Committee Chairs, and others who will be involved with this process at the departmental level.

Please contact Brenda Gritsch or Alaina Hanson if you have questions or need further clarification.

Thank you.
