As you may recall, the Registrar removed the Final Exam dates and times from the MyUI course schedule after Spring Break since many exams had been canceled, and there was a concern that if students saw this information that they would assume an exam was still required.

  • It is very important that you communicate with students about any final exams; be clear about the day and time since it is no longer on the MyUI Schedule.
  • If you are giving a final exam, you must use the scheduled exam period assigned by the Registrar to avoid creating conflicts for students.

If final exam conflicts for individual students should occur, follow these guidelines:

  • Final examination times published by the Office of the Registrar take precedence over any makeup final examinations provided by instructors for individual students.
  • Students with a qualified conflict should be assigned according to the following precedence rules set by the Registrar for the Spring Semester.

During SPRING Semesters
Courses having higher subject alpha characters or higher course numbers when the conflict is within a subject will take precedence. If the conflict is within the same subject and course then the higher section number will take precedence.
