Position Summary

Works with all City Departments in the development and maintenance of Geographical Information Services (GIS) information.

Essential Functions

Create maps using ArcGIS.

Create, update and maintain layers in ArcGIS.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

Currently enrolled in a college or university pursing a degree in GIS or related field.

No experience is required; however a working knowledge or familiarity with ESRI software is preferred.

Knowledge of Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) Software.

Knowledge of Geographical Information System concepts, design methods, procedures, techniques and methodology; complex principles and practices of record keeping.

Maintain or modify Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases.

Ability to determine scales, line sizes, or colors to be used for hard copies of computerized maps, using plotters.

Ability to edit and update features using ArcMap.

Ability to effectively with the public, City employees and communicate clearly and tactfully with co-workers.

Ability to attend work regularly and learn new technical skills quickly and efficiently.

Special Requirements

Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug test.

Valid Class C Driver's License with a good driving record as defined by City Policy.
