GIS Analyst – Portfolio Siting Team

Position Description:
Tradewind is looking for a motivated and talented individual to join our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) department. We are seeking to hire a GIS Analyst to work with a team responsible for siting new wind, solar and storage projects.
The successful candidate will work with the GIS Portfolio Siting Team and have the following responsibilities:
• Work closely with our Development, Environmental & Permitting, Meteorology and Real Estate teams.
• Provide GIS and cartographic support to clients and staff, including the generation of production quality maps.
• Input data into enterprise-wide GIS database to track wind, solar and storage projects.
• Create and edit accurate GIS data, maintain spatial databases, and perform tasks related to various analyses, including but not limited to: industry competition, environmental and other constraints, zoning & permitting requirements, transmission capacity and energy pricing.
• Research government records and online databases to determine land interests.
• Perform informal research to inform renewable energy competition status.
• Review and coordinate data submitted by development managers and land acquisition agents related to trusts, probates, corporate entities, and conveyance documents, to determine and confirm execution authority of contracts.
• Input data into enterprise-wide database to monitor and record pertinent contracts and continually maintain data integrity.
• Assist remote field agents with information gathering and provide support, as needed.
• Work with a software development team to assist in testing applications and tools that assist in automating workflows.
 

Position Requirements:
Candidate should have a thorough understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and cartographic principles. Candidate must be organized, an effective communicator, capable of managing multiple tasks, and work effectively with individuals both internal and external to Tradewind/Enel. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal guidance are essential. Strong computer skills are required, and a familiarity with database-driven applications and interfacing with GIS software.
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Geology, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, Computer Science, Engineering or other applicable area.
• Strong skills with Esri ArcGIS desktop software, ArcGIS Online, ArcPro and ArcGIS Collector.
• Minimum of 2 years of GIS work experience using GIS applications such as ArcGIS and related extensions, relational databases and broad knowledge of GIS capabilities.
 

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in renewable energy development, project level evaluation, regional transmission grids, real estate and land records, local and state permitting, and environmental studies.
• Excellent problem-solving, verbal and written communication, design, development and debugging skills.
