Position: Assistant Professor – Geography

Qualifications:    Ph.D. in Geography strongly preferred – ABD considered if completed by beginning of the Fall 2017 semester. Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates, engage them in research and make interdisciplinary program linkages.

 

Position Description:

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate courses ranging from the introductory to specialized courses such as food, U.S. history, tourism and/or geopolitics, with a four course load per semester. This position requires commitment to Eastern’s liberal arts education mission, student advising and service to the department and university. It is expected that the successful candidate will engage undergraduates in research.  Ability to make linkages to other programs including Women's Studies, Asian Studies, Latin American and Caribbean Studies or the public health/health sciences program is a plus.
