Rhetoric Department Day: Information Literacy in the Rhetoric Classroom--How to Teach Inquiry-Based Research at 3:30pm in TILE 1022

October 30, 2015 - 3:30pm
TILE 1022
  • Do your students reflexively turn to Google to answer many questions or to conduct research for class projects because they don’t know (yet!) how to pursue diverse avenues for research?
  • Do your students know where the library is, or know how to find the books that stacked upstairs?
  • Would you like to learn more about how to design assignments and in-class activities that guide our students in skillfully finding, filtering, evaluating and critically engaging with a variety of sources — so that they can develop modest contributions to ongoing conversations that genuinely interest them?

Our upcoming Rhetoric Department Day offers an interactive workshop to our wider teaching community to explore questions, challenges and possibilities that emerge when we regard information as rhetorical.
