University of Iowa students from all colleges and majors are invited to showcase their innovative or entrepreneurial ideas at the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Expo, part of the 2015 Hawkeye Innovation Summit to be held on April 23 in the Iowa Memorial Union.
The expo will feature dozens of booths with students' innovations and entrepreneurial ideas in art, technology, health care, the sciences, and other disciplines, as well as a live DJ and food. The expo will run from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.; applications for a booth are due by April 15.
Here is the schedule for the 2015 Hawkeye Innovation Summit (all sessions take place in the Iowa Memorial Union):
- 12:00 p.m.–12:30 p.m.: Registration/Networking (registration is free)
- 12:30 p.m.–1:30 p.m.: Keynote Panel
- 1:30 p.m.–2:30 p.m.: Breakout Sessions
- 2:30 p.m.–4:00 p.m.: Entrepreneurship & Innovation Expo; applications are due April 15)
- 7:00 p.m.: Special Guest: Daymond John from "Shark Tank" in the IMU Main Lounge (tickets are free and will be available starting Thursday, April 16, at 5pm at the IMU Box Office. 2 ticket limit per person.)
In addition, faculty and postdoctoral fellows are invited to a session called, "The ABCs of Translating a Great Scientific Idea Into a Great Startup," from 5:00 p.m.–6:30 p.m.
The Hawkeye Innovation Summit is hosted by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center; Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development; University of Iowa Research Foundation; University of Iowa Research Park; and University of Iowa Small Business Development Center.
