Iowa Flute Festival, "Flute Without Borders," to be held on Mar. 4

“Flute Without Borders,” the Iowa Flute Festival hosted by University of Iowa Associate Professor of Flute Nicole Esposito and the School of Music, will take place at the Voxman Concert Hall on Mar. 4.

The flute festival brings together students and professionals from the state of Iowa and surrounding region.  Guest artists for the event include Carol Wincenc, renowned soloist and faculty member of the Juilliard School; Kaori Fujii, international soloist and founder of Music Beyond, Inc.; and Andrea “Fluter Scooter” Fisher, flutist and entrepreneur. 

The day-long event will conclude with a Gala Concert free and open to the public, which will take place at 7 pm.

The School of Music is part of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

 


The University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers about 70 majors across the humanities; fine, performing and literary arts; natural and mathematical sciences; social and behavioral sciences; and communication disciplines. About 15,000 undergraduate and nearly 2,000 graduate students study each year in the college’s 37 departments, led by faculty at the forefront of teaching and research in their disciplines.
