Cultural responsivity in clinical education to facilitate student success

Abstract: Cultural responsivity is an important aspect in clinical education/supervision. To ensure student success in clinical practice, it is important that clinical educators are culturally responsive to students’ identity and backgrounds. The presentation will focus on knowledge, strategies and attributes that clinical educators can incorporate to increase their cultural responsivity and facilitate student learning and success.

Outcomes: Following this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Define diversity, inclusion, and equity
  • List their own cultural identities and discuss their influence while working with supervisees
  • Describe three strategies to enhance cultural responsivity in clinical education

Continuing Education: Participants will receive a certificate of attendance for 1.0 hour of continuing education following the event. Content is appropriate for state licensure, ASHA, and AAA continuing education requirements.
