Food for Thought Symposium

Maggie Carrel, Assistant Professor in the Geographical and Sustainability Sciences Department is helping to organize the Food for Thought Symposium being held this Friday and Saturday.  Friday’s events include a session designed for undergraduates called “Feed Your Future” that will focus on post-graduation careers in food systems/food production/food distribution.  On Saturday morning Maggie will moderate a session called “The Locavore’s Dilemma” featuring commentary from Julie Guthman (geographer at UC Santa Cruz, author of “Weighing In: Obesity, Food Justice, and the Limits of Capitalism”) and Kamyar Enshayan (director of the Center for Energy & Environmental Education at University of Northern Iowa).  Please join us this Friday and Saturday!  Schedule and more information available at: https://foodforthoughtsymposium.wordpress.com/
