Caroline Radesky is a History and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies PhD candidate at the University of Iowa. She earned her B.A. in History and Gender and Women’s Studies from Dickinson College in 2009. At Iowa, she is currently working on her dissertation examining how same-sex desiring individuals in the late nineteenth and early twentieth-century U.S. used history to construct and navigate their sexual identities. This research is supported by the Mellon Foundation, the AAUW, and the University of Iowa.
