Please let instructors know that undergraduate students may now use an online form to request a second-grade-only option (SGO).

This option allows a student who has repeated a UI course to request that only the second grade is used for GPA calculations and as hours earned.

• Students will find the SGO online form by logging in with the HawkID and password at https://workflow.uiowa.edu/entry/new/662
• Students may also visit the Office of Academic Programs & Student Development web site (see Academic Policies, Grades, Second-grade-only option).

Students may continue to come to 120 Schaeffer Hall to file this request. The office is open M-F from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Most undergraduate students request the second-grade-only option before the last day of class in order for the second grade to appear on the next grade report. Students may also make this request after the close of the semester as long as the request occurs before the student is awarded the degree. For more information, visit this CLAS web page.
