All CLAS faculty and staff are invited to attend the induction ceremony for the Alpha of Iowa chapter of The Phi Beta Kappa Society, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honor society, to celebrate new student members who joined the chapter in 2023-2024. The ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 1:30 pm in the International Ballroom, Iowa Memorial Union, room 243. Dr. Sarah E. Bond, Erling B. “Jack” Holtsmark Associate Professor in the Classics, and Associate Professor in the Department of History, will give the keynote address, “My Roman Empire: Writing About Our Passions for a Public Audience.” Light refreshments will be served immediately following the ceremony.
