Multimedia Labs

Software

All the multimedia labs (Mac and Windows) contain a common core of software: Microsoft Office, the complete Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (2013 release), Soundslides, Audacity, VLC, a text editor (TextWrangler or NotePad++), and an FTP client (Fetch or FileZilla). Mac labs also include Final Cut Pro X. The W332 lab includes a video-conversion software package for transcoding between video formats.

W236 is a Mac lab with 20 iMacs (purchased in summer 2014), a black-and-white laser printer and a color laser printer.

W332, our "high-end" multimedia lab, features 20 iMacs (purchased in summer 2011) with 27" displays. These machines are outfitted with a USB and FireWire 400 hubs for more convenient connections of still and video cameras to the machines. The room also contains a black-and-white laser printer and a color laser printer.

W340 is an Windows lab with 20 Dell Optiplex 9020 All-in-one computers with touch screens (purchased in summer 2013), a black-and-white laser printer and a color laser printer.
