Zach Springer is from Rock Rapids, Iowa pursuing a double major in Economics and Political Science with a minor in Philosophy. Since his freshman year at Iowa he has been actively involved with the Honors Program and the Presidential Scholar Program, and he is planning to pursue department honors in Economics. Since the beginning of his sophomore year, he has been involved in Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law fraternity, where he currently serves on the executive board as the treasurer. He was recently elected to represent University of Iowa students as an At-Large Senator for Undergraduate Student Government. However, his interest in politics doesn’t stop there. In the summer of 2021, he interned for both Senator Charles Grassley and Representative Randy Feenstra (IA-04) in their Washington, D.C. offices, where he got to see how our government works from the inside and aided the members in researching policy and responding to constituent inquiries. At the beginning of his sophomore year, he began serving as a Tippie Learning Coach, working with students in various Economics courses. He was a member of the University of Iowa Mock Trial team during his freshman year and was honored as an outstanding attorney during the regional competition of 2020. After completing his undergraduate education, he plans to attend law school and one day work as a business and corporate attorney.
