Free ESL Classes for Community Members

Every summer (mid-June through mid-July), free classes in English as a Second Language are offered to community members in the Iowa City area. Classes concentrate on speaking and listening, though help with other aspects of English is also available. Each class period is approximately one hour, and all classes take place during the daytime. Speakers of all ability levels are welcome. No daycare is provided. Classes are taught by students in the Department of Linguistics who are pursuing specialized training in teaching ESL. Classes are held on the Univerity of Iowa's campus.

For more information on these free summer classes, call the ESL Programs Office at (319) 335-5630 in late May.
