Each year following spring semester finals, School of Music Professor Dan Moore takes his percussion students on a week-long tour throughout the state for the PanAmerican Steel Band tour, sponsored by Arts Share.

In 2016, they will tour May 14 - 20, performing for schools, community organizations, and formal venues in Marshalltown, Burt, Forest City, Winfield, Davenport, Eldridge, Burlington, Oxford, Monticello, Cedar Rapids, and North Liberty.  The 18-member ensemble will travel over 1,000 miles to share their talents with the rest of the state.

The band has two CDs to their credit: everywhereCalypso and Noise Brigade. Their music ranges from folk and popular styles to the most challenging new music for pans by composers such as Ray Holman and Andy Narell. The band has performed with pan artists Mat Britain, Liam Teague, John Wooton, and Ray Holman.

Arts Share is a program of the UI Office of Outreach & Engagement.
