Freda Lynn’s research interests include status dynamics, networks, and social inequality. She is currently exploring several aspects of status hierarchies, including the mechanisms that enable the social construction of status and the effect of quality ambiguity on deference behavior. In one project, she is comparing citation accumulation patterns in the social sciences versus the natural sciences. In another project, she is examining the reputation network of a group of community leaders. Her teaching interests include quantitative methods, gender and inequality, and social networks.
