D'Andre Walker is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology. His primary research and teaching interests include criminology, gender and crime, juvenile delinquency, juvenile justice, and race and crime. His dissertation project, "Advancing General Strain Theory: Three Empirical Studies," explores the relationship between strains (e.g., victimization, deficiency in support, and teenage pregnancy) and maladaptive behaviors, with a primary focus on the role of deviant peers in the coping process.
