Social work professor Amy Roberts, Miami University in Ohio, will present results from research projects using CASPAR data to examine the relationship between social work staffing and the quality of resident care. Bottom line: Modest investment in nursing home social work is positively related to higher quality of resident care.

Amy Restorick Roberts, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Science and Social Work at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She is a graduate of the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. With nearly a decade of most-masters practice experience working in a continuing care retirement community, her scholarship aims to improve the quality of life of older people. Within this realm, her research focuses on social service staffing in nursing homes, adult guardianship, and family caregiving to sterngth systems of long-term care services and supports.
