June 2018 - CEUs approved for student supervisors!

The Iowa Schools of Social Work Field Directors have been working with the Iowa Board of Social Work to allow for Iowa licensed social workers to receive CEUs for supervision of social work students. 

It finally was adopted and is in effect! We are thrilled to be able to offer this small token of thanks for the countless hours of supervision, guidance, and mentorship you have provided to our students.  
 
Professional Licensure 645, Chapter 281.3(2)(k) Specific criteria: Supervision of a social work practicum student(s) from an accredited social work education program. A licensee may receive one credit for every 100 hours supervised, not to exceed six hours of continuing education credit per biennium. [ARC 3744C, IAB 4/11/18, effective 5/16/18].
 
If you are an Iowa-licensed social worker and supervised or will supervise at one or more University of Iowa social work students between Spring 2017 and Fall 2018, you can receive FREE CEUs (1 per 100 hours interned, maximum of 6 per biennium) for your work. 

If you qualify, please contact Keri Neblett (keri-neblett@uiowa.edu, 319-335-1256), our Director of Field Education, with documentation of the semester(s) you supervised and the name(s) of the student(s) for your certificate.
