Paige completed her ALSP certificate in 2018. Her ALSP internship was in a research lab setting.
Penny earned her ALSP certificate while working full time in the College of Dentistry. She completed her ALSP internship at the College of Dentistry where she worked with Dr. Howard Cohen to develop geriatric dentistry training modules for dental students. Penny was successful in writing a grant to help support the development of the training modules. Penny and Dr. Cohen are standing in the Special Care Clinic, which is where dental students learn to work with persons with disabilities and/or special needs.
These students are learning about the experience of older adulthood through their SERVICE LEARNING project at a local assisted living center.
